The hideous visage of an unbearded Abraham Lincoln is oddly unsettling.
The facial asymmetry of Lincoln was painful enough without this mock demi-beard:
Lincoln was not the only famous world leader to drastically alter his appearance by modifying his facial hair.
Did you know that young Adolf Hitler had a handlebar mustache?
Who will remember the fetching stubble and wavy locks of the teenaged Joseph Stalin?
To his credit, former British prime minister Tony Blair has apparently never cultivated a mustache. However, he sprouted a fearsome mullet back in 1986.
